Australian mezzo-soprano Jade Moffat is a recent graduate from Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Opera Course, and was a Young Artist with Opera Queensland. She recently won the Australian Singing Competition’s Marianne Mathy Scholarship, the Joan Sutherland Award, and was the proud recipient of the Dame Nellie Melba Scholarship with the Melba Opera Trust for 2014 and 2015. Jade’s recent operatic roles include Zenobia Radamisto, Marcellina Le nozze di Figaro, Marta Iolanta, Mother Mavra, Fenena Nabucco, Judith Bluebeard’s Castle, Mrs Nolan The Medium, Diane The Perfect American, Fatima and Puck Oberon, Mary Door, and cover for Bianca The Rape of Lucretia, Tisbe La Cenerentola, Columbina Le donne curiose and Kate Pinkerton Madama Butterfly. Later this year Jade looks forward to covering the role of Cornelia Giulio Cesare for Bury Court Opera, and will join the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Chorus for their 2018 season. Jade is an Independent Opera Scholar, a Tait Memorial Trust Scholar, and the recipient of the Nora Goodridge Developing Artist Award with the Australian Music Foundation for 2016/2017.
