Johannes Kammler, Samling Artist and Britten-Pears Young Artist, is an internationally highly sought after baritone in opera, song and oratorio. He has given concerts as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra as well as the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Mark Elder and Marin Alsop, performing in significant concert halls and opera venues in London, Berlin, Baden-Baden, Moscow and Caracas.
Johannes has also had notable performances with Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with the Royal Opera in the Roundhouse London, with Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at the Easter Festival in Baden-Baden and with Britten’s War Requiem in the Royal Festival Hall London.
Undoubtedly a particularly remarkable concert was the German Federal President’s official concert for and in the presence of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI with J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican State. The concert was broadcast worldwide and recorded on CD and DVD with the label Ars Musici.
The finalist of the international song competition Das Lied in Berlin 2015 did his undergraduate studies in Freiburg, Germany with Prof Markus Goritzki and in Toronto, Canada with James Patrick Raftery. Currently Johannes is doing his postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Prof Rudolf Piernay.
Johannes is regularly enhancing his education by participating in masterclasses e.g. with Prof Edith Wiens, Wolfgang Holzmair and Imogen Cooper, Emma Kirkby and Graham Johnson.
