Kiandra Howarth

Samling Artist Programme 2016

Australian soprano Kiandra Howarth began her studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and subsequently at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. After working on Young Artist Programmes at Opera Queensland, Opera Australia and the Salzburg Festival Kiandra joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in 2013, performing and covering roles including Zweiten Blumenmädchen Parsifal, Echo Ariadne auf Naxos, Contessa di Ceprano Rigoletto, Giannetta and Adina L’elisir damore.

In July 2015 Kiandra won the CulturArte Prize in the 23rd Edition of Plácido Domingo’s Operalia – The World Opera Competition held at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

This season to date Kiandra has performed Echo Ariadne auf Naxos and covered Zerlina Don Giovanni, both for the Royal Opera House. She made her debut at Theater an der Wien in December 2015 performing the role of First Niece in a new production of Peter Grimes directed by Christof Loy.

Later this year Kiendra returns to Australia to perform the soprano solo in Mozart’s Requiem with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Lauretta Gianni Schicchi for Western Australian Opera and the soprano solo in Mahler’s Symphony no.2 with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra. She will also sing Fiordiligi Così fan tutte for West Green Opera.
