Richard Morrison is a prize winning graduate of the Royal College of Music in London.  He sings regularly in Germany, where he has appeared at the Staatsoper Hannover (Figaro Il barbiere di Siviglia), Nationaltheater Mannheim (Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor), Staatstheater Mainz (Don Giovanni, Papageno Die Zauberflöte, Pelléas Pelléas et Mélisande, Germont La Traviata, Marcello La Boheme, Baritone solo in Das Lied von der Erde),  Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern (The Traveller Death in Venice, He Vaage’s Someone is going to come, He Kerger’s Ein Mond aus Kochender Milch), Theater Bonn (Peter Hänsel und Gretel), Theater Bremen (Ottokar Der Freischütz), Staatstheater Schwerin (Carmina Burana). In the UK he has appeared at Opera North (Count Robinson The Secret Marriage, Goryanchikov From the House of the Dead), the Royal Albert Hall (Sharpless Madam Butterfly) and Opera Holland Park (Dr. Falke Die Fledermaus). He sang Don Alfonso in Sir Thomas Allen’s production of Così fan tutte for Samling Opera.

In concert he has appeared at all of the UK’s principal venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Festival Theater Edinburgh, Usher Hall, singing with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Hallé, Royal Northern Sinfonia, London Mozart Players, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, John Wilson Orchestra.

Richard Morrison has recently recorded the role of Philippe in Prima Donna by Rufus Wainwright, broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and to be released in 2015 on Deutsche Grammophon. He appears with John Wilson and his orchestra on their Cole Porter in Hollywood CD on Warner Classics. Other recordings include the title role in Edward German’s Tom Jones, a world premiere recording on Naxos and The Sultan in Sullivan’s Rose of Persia for the BBC, also a world premiere recording. He has released a solo CD of Scottish songs entitled, Songs of my Home.

His recent engagements include Ford Falstaff at the Staatstheater Oldenburg and he has just been appearing with the John Wilson Orchestra on their UK tour of Cole Porter in Hollywood, broadcast on Sky TV.
