Verity Parker

Samling Artist Programme: 2009

Born on the Wirral, Verity studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio. She now studies with Arwel Treharne Morgan. Verity is also a Samling Artist. Operatic experience includes: Adina L’elisir d’amore (Scottish Opera), Romilda Xerxes (Iford Opera), Queen of the Night The Magic Flute (London Festival Opera and Garsington Education Project), Venus Orpheus and the Underworld (Opera Holland Park), Nannetta Falstaff (Grange Park Opera),The Controller Flight (BYO), Johanna Sweeny Todd (Pimlico Opera), Ist Maid St. Matthew Passion (Glyndebourne Festival Opera) Marzelina Fidelio (Jerwood Scenes, GFO.)

Verity has been a member of the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus and has sung in the chorus of Britten’s Peter Grimes at the Salzburg Festival under Sir Simon Rattle and Trevor Nunn.

Concert work include soprano 1 in Mahler’s Symphony for a Thousand at York Minster, recitals at St-Martin-in-the-Fields and Glyndebourne Wessex Society, Carmina Burana at Snape Maltings and Haydn’s Nelson Mass under Wilcocks.

Verity’s studies at the National Opera Studio were supported by the Derek Butler Trust, an Alan Beurrier Bursary and a Susan Chilcott Scholarship. She is also grateful to Minette Marrin, Joelle Stockley and Serena Fenwick for their support.
