The Dutch baritone Robbert Muuse studied in Maastricht with Mya Besselink and in Germany at the Karlsruhe Opera Academy with Donald Litaker. He also studied with vocal accompanists Konrad Richter, Hartmut Höll at the Salzburg Mozarteum and Julius Drake in London. He participated in masterclasses with Sir Thomas Allen, Barbara Bonney, Robert Holl, Graham Johnson, Claudio Nicolai, David Wilson-Johnson and Hilde Zadek.

Robbert Muuse has appeared in many operatic roles with conductors such as Jan-Willem de Vriend, Cologne’s Kapellmeister Enrico Delamboye, Ed Spanjaard and Jos van Veldhoven, directors Guy Joosten, Saskia Boddeke and Peter Greenaway.

As a concert singer he frequently appears in concerts and has performed many song recitals accompanied by Dutch pianist Micha van Weers. He was invited to the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Cité de la Musique in Paris, St John’s Smith Square in London, the London Southbank Sinfonia (conducted by Simon Over), the Karlsruhe Festspielhaus (Germany), Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, the Nieuw Ensemble, The Netherlands Bach Society and the French Ensemble Pierre Robert, directed by Frédéric Desenclos. He appeared as a guest soloist on many international festivals, such as the Festival of Ancient Music in Utrecht, Brussels, Israel, in France, such as La Roque d'Anthéron, Chapelle Royale de Versailles, Saint Michel-en-Thiérache, La Chaise Dieu, the London Lufthansa Baroque Festival, Riga and Miami.

Robbert Muuse has participated as a soloist in recordings for radio and television, CD’s by Alpha Records (with Ensemble Pierre Robert) and Brilliant Classics (Matthäus and Johannes Passion), and a DVD by Challenge Classics (Agrippina – Combattimento Consort Amsterdam).
