Samling's May Masterclass
Samling’s Patron and internationally acclaimed baritone, Sir Thomas Allen, leads another prestigious Masterclass week benefiting eight exceptional young artists. He will be joined by celebrated pianist Roger Vignoles with whom he shares a longstanding musical partnership. Soprano Patricia MacMahon and pianist Christopher Glynn will complete the leadership team.
Over the course of a week six singers and two pianists will be guided in developing both technique and artistry. A public Masterclass on Wednesday 16 May, 3 - 6pm, King’s Hall, Newcastle University, will provide a learning experience not only for the participants but also for the audience as we discover what it takes to become a truly accomplished performer.
The outstanding work produced during the week will be displayed in an eclectic concert of opera and song on Saturday 19 May, 7pm, Hall Two, The Sage Gateshead, with the new Samling Scholars giving a unique performance alongside their mentors.
