Lucy Hall graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a first class honours degree in 2013. Winner of the Dove Memorial and the Ann Wyburd prize, she studied with Susan McCulloch and Yvonne Kenny. She completed her training as a member of the National Opera Studio.
She made her debut at the Aix-en-Provence Festival as Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro with Jérémie Rhorer conducting and has covered Zerlina Don Giovanni for Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Sandrina La finta Giardiniera for Glyndebourne on Tour, she also created Asia in Wakening Shadow for Glyndebourne conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. Other operatic roles include Lucia The Rape of Lucretia at the Grimeborn Festival, Aurore Le Portrait de Manon and Susanna Le nozze di Fiagro at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Sandrina La finta Giardiniera with Andreas Spering at the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg and the Opéra de Toulon and Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro for British Youth Opera.
In concert Lucy sang Flora The Turn of the Screw with the London Symphony Orchestra and Richard Farnes, recorded for LSO Live, JS Bach Cantatas on tour with the Israel Camerata, Detlef Glanert’s arrangement of Schubert’s Einsamkeit with the BBC Philharmonic and HK Gruber, Elias with Ensemble Pygmalion and Raphaël Pichon, Messiah with the Royal Choral Society, Mozart’s Coronation Mass at St John’s Smith Square, Mozart Exsultate Jubilate with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozart Requiem at the Ambronay Festival with Leonardo García Alarcón recorded for CD and Nielsen Symphony 3 and Bridesmaid Der Freischütz with the late Sir Colin Davis at the London Symphony Orchestra, recorded for LSO live.
This season appearances include Mozart Requiem at St John’s Smith Square, Messiah with the Guildford Choral Society, Alexander’s Feast at Aldeburgh, Euridice Orfeo ed Euridice for Scottish Opera, Nielsen Symphony No. 3 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Marzelline Fidelio with the BBC Philharmonic. Next season Lucy returns to Opéra de Toulon as Despina in Così fan tutte.
