Sonny Fielding is a baritone from Liverpool who is in his final year of study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama Opera School under the tutelage of Robert Dean. He has a passion for opera, art song and composition. His previous operatic credits at Guildhall School of Music and Drama include the title role in Owen Wingrave, Hausirer Der Wald, Tito and Valerio in the UK premiere of Respighi’s Lucrezia, Dr Blind Die Fledermaus, Aristotle Alexander and the Tree by Sorena Sabah and librettist Jess McNulty, Puppet Master Strings of Rebellion by Mary Offer and librettist Adi Denner and scenes from Gloriana, Don Pasquale, Manon, Maria Stuarda and L’elisir d’amore.

Since 1996, the Samling Artist Programme has provided intensive residential masterclass weeks for early-career singers and pianists, followed by professional development and support through our activities and established networks.
