Charlotte Bowden

Charlotte is an alumna of the Royal College of Music Opera Studio and Verbier Festival Atelier Lyrique, Glyndebourne/Jerwood, OHP, Britten-Pears, and Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artist programmes. She won Second Prize at the 2023 Cesti Competition and was a finalist in the 2022 Kathleen Ferrier Awards.

Charlotte made her Glyndebourne debut as Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro in 2022 as a Jerwood Young Artist, for which she received the Miss Miriam Trevaux Award. She returned to Glyndebourne in Autumn 2023 as Zerlina Don Giovanni. Other roles include the Dew Fairy, Hänsel und Gretel and Susannah Le nozze di Figaro (Opera Holland Park); Gretel Hänsel und Gretel (British Youth Opera/Silent Opera and Royal College of Music Opera), Pamina Die Zauberflöte (RCM Opera Studio), and Flaminia Il mondo della luna (RCM Opera Studio);  BridesmaidDer Freischütz (Sir Mark Elder/OAE) and covered roles including Juliette Die tote Stadt (English National Opera)and Second Woman Dido and Aeneas (English Touring Opera)

ConcerConcert highlights include her Wigmore Hall debut as Orfeo in Handel’s Parnasso in festa, Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall, and stepping in for Pretty Yende at the dress rehearsal for The Coronation. She will sing Haydn Die Schöpfung at the Ravenna Festival in May 2024.
