Emily Christina Loftus graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music (2019-2021) where she studied with Rosa Mannion as the Leverhulme Arts Scholar.

For the 21/22 season, Emily will perform the role of Pamina The Magic Flute (Opera North Whistlestop Opera) and Lisa La Sonnambula (Random Opera Company), as well as joining the chorus for Così fan tutte (ENO) and Parsifal (Opera North). Upcoming recital engagements include a guest recital for Howdenshire Music and Emily’s first Oxford Lieder appearance with an Emerging Artist recital in support of Mary Bevan.

Previous operatic roles include: Papagena Die Zauberflöte (Royal College of Music International Opera School) Evita/Girl in Jeans Scoring a Century (British Youth Opera) and Mary Crawford Mansfield Park (Edinburgh Studio Opera). In opera scenes, she has performed Sister Constance Dialogues des carmélites, Sophie Werther, Gretel Hänsel und Gretel (Royal College of Music Opera Scenes), Ilia Idomeneo (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Opera Scenes) Oscar Un ballo in maschera and  Musetta La bohème (Fife Young Classical Artist).

Since 1996, the Samling Artist Programme has provided intensive residential masterclass weeks for early-career singers and pianists, followed by professional development and support through our activities and established networks.
