British soprano Faryl Smith is currently a Guildhall Scholar on the postgraduate course at The Guildhall school of Music and Drama, studying with Marilyn Rees. Prior to this, she graduated from the GSMD undergraduate course with a first-class honours degree and received The Ann Wyburd Prize for her performance of German Lieder.
Faryl has performed at Mendelssohn-Haus in Leipzip at the invitation of The Felix Mendelssohn Foundation and she is proud to be an ambassador for The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. This summer she appears as Berta Il barbiere di Siviglia for Clonter Opera. Opera scene performances include Fiordiligi Così fan tutte, Norina Don Pasqaule, Zdenka Arabella and Sophie Der Rosenkavalier.
Faryl will continue her studies on the GSMD opera course in September as a Sybil Tutton Opera Award holder, supported by Help Musicians.
