Harriet Burns is a scholarship student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD) studying with Yvonne Kenny on the Artist Masters programme. Harriet is a Wigmore Chamber Tots Ensemble Artist and a London Symphony Orchestra platform artist. She is looking forward to joining the GSMD Opera School in September 2018. Harriet has been awarded the Paul Hamburger prize for Lieder, and won first prize in the Franz-Schubert-Institut competition which led to a full scholarship to study at the Institut in Baden-bei-Wien. She recently made her Wigmore Hall debut in a recital of Schubert Lieder with Graham Johnson, and sang a recital of Brahms Lieder with Christopher Glynn in the Chiltern Arts Festival. An advocate of new music, she recently performed Varèse Offrandes in the Varèse BBC Total Immersion Day, and performed works by Weir and Golijov in the This is Rattle series at the Barbican. Future engagements include a Rising Stars Recital in the International Lied Festival Zeist with Ian Tindale and a recital with the Prince Consort in their Side-by-Side concert at Wigmore Hall.
