Jo Ramadan

Pianist, Samling Artist Programme: 2010 & 2012

Jo Ramadan studied at Durham University and the Royal College of Music. He is principal Assistant Conductor and répétiteur for Classical Opera Company and in summer 2019 he was Assistant Conductor at the Drottningholm Festival for Handel’s Ariodante.

Future plans include Assistant Conductor in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream for Grange Festival, recitals with David Butt Philip, Martha Jones, Nick Pritchard, Amanda Roocroft, Nicky Spence, Kitty Whately and Roderick Williams.

Jo is Director of Music at St Vedast Foster Lane and on the staff as accompanist, conductor and Professor of vocal repertoire at the Royal College of Music, and as conductor and pianist at Oxenfoord International Summer School. He regularly returns to Samling Institute as a leader for Samling Academy.

Since 1996, the Samling Artist Programme has provided intensive residential masterclass weeks for early-career singers and pianists, followed by professional development and support through our activities and established networks.
