Sarah Chae

South Korean soprano Sarah Chae recently performed the title role in the German premiere of Balfe’s Satanella and Queen of the Night Die Zauberflöte at Erzgebirgische Theater and Frasquita Carmen at the Immling Festival. Other roles include Lesbia L’isola d’Alcina and Calloandra in Salieri’s La fiera di Venezia (Bampton Classical Opera) and Musetta La bohème and cover for Violetta La traviata (Oxford Opera). She studied at Saar University of Music (B.A., M.A., Konzertexamen) and at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence. As a National Opera Studio 22/23 Young Artist she worked with Welsh National Opera, Opera North and Scottish Opera. She is a Bayreuth Scholarship recipient and prizewinner at competitions in Italy and the Czech Republic.
