Sofia Kirwan-Baez

Soprano, Samling Artist Programme: 2025

Anglo-Venezuelan soprano Sofia Kirwan-Baez trained at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Royal College of Music and National Opera Studio. A regular song recitalist, she was a 2022/23 Wigmore Song Exchange artist. Her concert work spans Monteverdi’s Vespers to Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire and she won the 2021 Concerto Competition at RCM with Poulenc’s La voix humaine. Last season, she made her role and house debuts as Musetta La bohème (Longborough Festival Opera) and Rosina Le Barbier de Séville Revisited (Opéra National de Bordeaux). Engagements in 2025/26 include covering Mélisande Pelléas et Mélisande (Longborough); Susanna The Marriage of Figaro (Cumbria Opera Group) and Papagena Die Zauberflöte (Opéra National de Bordeaux).
