Susannah Waters

Over a thirty-five year career in the arts, Susannah Waters has been telling stories through a wide variety of media. She began her professional life as an opera singer, after training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio, and sang principal roles in many of the world’s leading opera houses. After transitioning into stage directing, she founded her own company, specialising in site-specific opera, theatre and dance, for whom she devised, commissioned and directed a large variety of productions. She has also directed projects for festivals and companies, including the Brighton Festival and Glyndebourne Festival Opera. She has published two novels and is currently finishing her third. As an editor, she regularly mentors both best-selling and debut authors, helping them to discover the best structure for their work.
