Samling Artist Profile: Milan Siljanov

The Samling Artist being featured in today’s profile is Milan Siljanov. Don’t forget you can see Milan and seven other Samling Artists perform this Saturday at Sage Gateshead in our Masterclass and Concert, led by four stars of the classical world.

Swiss bass-baritone Milan Siljanov’s training includes a BMus and MA at Zurich University of the Arts, and he is currently in his second year of the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where his operatic experience includes roles in Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Pasquale and The Rake’s Progress.

Earlier this year Milan he won the 2015 Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition after performing a programme of Bennett, Mahler, Sviridov, Poulenc, Schoenberg, Warlock and Wolf. (You can read Classical Music Magazine’s report on the prize here).

Milan also won both the First Prize and Audience Prize in the Lied-Duo competition at last year’s ‘s-Hertogenbosch International Vocal Competition in the Netherlands.
