Samling Artist Profile: Timothy Charles Langston

In today’s Samling Artist profile we introduce tenor Timothy Charles Langston.

Timothy read Music at the University of Manchester and latterly at the Royal Northern College of Music. Earlier this year he set up Manchester Opera Ensemble and has since directed Menotti’s radio opera The Old Maid and the Thief and Britten’s The Turn of the Screw.

He has previously sung with Opera North, European Opera Center, the Gabrieli Consort and British Youth Opera, as well as taking the role of an Apostle in Elgar’s The Apostles with The Hallé under the baton of Sir Mark Elder.

Timothy has a passion for contemporary music and has performed premières of new operas with Manchester Opera Project and at the Tête à Tête Festival of new opera in London.

Samling’s public Masterclass and Concert takes place on Saturday 28 November and is led by internationally-renowned soprano Joan Rodgers and pianist Malcolm Martineau, as well as David Gowland, Artistic Director of the Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, and Broadway theatre and opera director Tim Carroll.
