Angharad Lyddon is a recent graduate of Royal Academy Opera studying with Janice Chapman and Audrey Hyland. Prior to the Opera Course she was awarded first class BMus (Hons) and MA degrees as well as a DipRAM from the Royal Academy of Music.
Her roles for RAO include Lucretia The Rape of Lucretia, Baba the Turk The Rake’s Progress, Zita Gianni Schicchi, Filipyevna Eugene Onegin, Madame de la Haltière Cendrillon and Polinesso Ariodante. Recent engagements include Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte for the Turku Music Festival and her debut at English National Opera in the role of Kate in Mike Leigh’s production of The Pirates of Penzance.
Angharad was a Jerwood Young Artist during the Glyndebourne Festival in 2013 where she created the role of Panthea in Luke Styles’ opera Wakening Shadow and performed Second Bridesmaid in Le nozze di Figaro. She was a semi-finalist in the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition 2015.
Angharad is a keen song and oratorio singer and has been a soloist at cathedrals and concert halls around the UK and abroad performing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Holywell Music Room and Wigmore Hall.
