Kamilla Dunstan is currently in her last year of her Masters in Music Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying with Clare Shearer before starting at the Royal College of Music (London) to join their International Opera School 2015/16.
Kamilla has recently understudied Ninetta in Jonathan Dove’s production of The Green Little Swallow with British Youth Opera (Sep, 2014) and will be performing the role La Marchande de journaux in the RCS’s production of Les Mamelles de Tirésias by Poulenc. Kamilla is also currently understudying Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro for RCS Alexander Opera School.
Kamilla will also be heading to Bayreuth Festspiele in August (2015) on a scholarship kindly given to her by the Wagner Society of Scotland.
Past engagements include soloist in Handel’s Jubilate & Te Deum with the English Chamber Orchestra as part of the City of London Festival (St Paul’s Cathedral), Duruflé’s Requiem with Glasgow City Chorus and appeared as a guest artist with the Coldstream Guards.
Previous roles in both opera and small scenes include, Angelina (La Cenerentola – Rossini), Octtavia (L’incoronazione di Poppea – Monteverdi), Lucretia (The Rape of Lucretia – Britten), Julia Grant (Appomattox – Philip Glass) and Meena (Night Dance – Taplin).
