Samling Academy – How to Apply
Do you enjoy singing?
If you’re interested in classical singing, Samling Academy offers excellent opportunities to work with renowned singers, coaches and pianists, culminating in performances at Sage Gateshead and across the North East.
This years dates are 2–4 and 16–18 October 2020, with a final concert at Sage Two on 18 October.
Held over six intensive days in October, Samling Academy provides coaching and tuition in singing, languages, acting and stagecraft, movement and dance. In addition Samling Academy gives young singers valuable and unique performance opportunities throughout the year.
The next round of applications for Samling Academy will open early in 2021. To be eligible, you must be aged 14 or over, and live or study in North East England. You will also need to speak to your music or singing teacher and ask them to support your application with a recommendation. We cannot accept applications without a recommendation.
Those invited to audition will be asked to prepare three pieces of music to perform from memory including one in a language other than their own. We also ask that singers bring their own pianist.
